Giovanni "Gio" Fernandez, PhD
President and Financial Advisor
Giovanni “Gio” Fernandez, PhD: Gio was born and raised in Miami, FL. After completing his undergraduate studies in finance, he decided to pursue his PhD in Finance to both increase his expertise and pursue his dream of educating others in the powerful tools of finance. In 2012 when he graduated with his PhD and after many years of helping his father on the operational side of the business, Gio became a lead advisor for FWM and a professor of finance at Stetson University. Currently, Gio is the President and Senior Advisor at FWM and Associate Professor of Finance at Stetson University. He was married in October 2021 to Mallory Fernandez, and they reside in DeLand, FL, splitting his time there and in Miami, FL. Gio’s passions and hobbies are education, travel, and golf; the latter is a passion, but unfortunately not a strong skill.
Joseph "Joey" Alamo
Financial Advisor
Joseph “Joey” Alamo: Joey was born and raised in Miami, FL. His family has a long lineage in financial services with his grandfather, emigrating from Cuba, who started a CPA firm in Miami in 1962. When going to college he asked the question to his father, who also works as an accounting and tax professional, about how best he can serve the clientele and community of South Florida? His father said the one thing that everyone he knows can use is an honest financial advisor. After that conversation, financial advising has become his main focus and passion. Joey graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelors in Finance, Concentration in Certified Financial Planning and was also a four year Division I soccer player. Since graduating he has gone on to pass the Certified Financial Planner Examination and hold the Series 65 license and Life and Health Insurance 2-15 license. He currently resides in South Miami, FL and enjoys spending time with family and friends, and staying active with everything from golf to indoor rock climbing.
Barbara Nogueiras Fernandez
Operations
Barabra was born in Cuba and emigrated to Miami with her family when she was a few years old. After graduating from Miami Senior High School, she went on to earn her Bachelors in Finance and her Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University. She went on to work in accounting and finance during the next 20 years. She now is the Operations Manager for FWM. Barbara enjoys spending time with loved ones and dining out to try new foods, and can often be found working on her garden.
